The International College of Medical Qigong (ICMQ) was created by Dr. Bernard Shannon to teach the concepts and principles of the International Institute of Medical Qigong. From 2004 to 2011, Dr. Shannon was the Executive Director, and senior instructor of the IIMQ, appointed by the founder, Dr. Jerry Alan Johnson.
Encouraged by the Medical Qigong College of the Hai Dian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (in Beijing, China), The IIMQ has been recognized by The Chinese Ministry of Health in 2005 as meeting the Chinese standards for academic and clinical instruction. The Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine appointed the IIMQ to be its Overseas College of Medical Qigong in 2006
The IIMQ has instructed Western students in the practice of Medical Qigong for over 20 years. There are clinical practitioners in 8 countries and 13 states as well as certified instructors residing in 4 countries and 8 states.
